Cordyceps mushroom, Dong Chong Xia Cao powder 60g.
Cordyceps is a genus of parasitic fungi that grows on insect larvae. Of the more than 400 species of Cordyceps discovered, two have become the focus of health research: Cordyceps sinensis and Cordyceps militaris.
Description
Cordyceps is well-known in traditional Chinese medicine and has been used for centuries to treat many health conditions . Animal and laboratory studies suggest that Cordyceps has the potential to improve heart health and fight inflammation, cancer, diabetes and aging . However, these results remain to be confirmed in human studies.
However, there have been human studies on the effects of Cordyceps on exercise. The fungi have been found to enhance energy and oxygen utilization during exercise.
Properties - Uses
  • Cordyceps is known as the Himalayan Viagra
due to its positive effects on enhancing sexual stamina. Cordyceps offers a natural and powerful alternative to pharmaceutical drugs that enhance libido, proven in various studies and used by various cultures worldwide to treat male impotence, improve erectile function, sperm production and stamina, and increase sexual desire in men and women.
  • Increases stamina & energy
Adenosine triphosphate - commonly known as "ATP" - is a molecule found in our bodies. The main function of ATP is to provide energy to all the cells in our bodies. This includes those that make up our muscles. Cordyceps extract has been shown to increase our body's production of ATP. This means it is particularly beneficial before exercise or physical activity , as it can help increase endurance and prevent fatigue.
  • Regulates the immune system
Similar to reishi, Cordyceps is believed to have a powerful immunomodulatory effect on the body. Thus, it can help the immune system fluctuate according to needs for optimal health. Many chronic diseases and autoimmune disorders are associated with an overactive or hypersensitive immune system.
  • Research (in animals) suggests that Cordyceps has anti-aging properties .
  • It has anticancer properties
Laboratory studies in animals suggest that Cordyceps may have the potential to treat cancer , as well as some side effects of cancer treatments. However, more research is needed on these effects.
  • Helps regulate blood sugar
Chronically elevated blood sugar levels are common in people with uncontrolled diabetes and can have serious health consequences. Animal research suggests that Cordyceps may have the potential to successfully treat diabetes .
  • Improves heart function through mechanisms of action such as
    • lowering blood pressure through direct dilation of blood vessels,
    • improving blood circulation in both the heart and brain via M-cholinergic receptors
    • may help correct abnormal heart rhythms
    • may increase cardiac output when used in combination with conventional treatments for chronic heart failure
    • reduces blood viscosity and fibrinogen levels which may help prevent heart attack
    • helps reduce triglyceride levels and "bad" LDL cholesterol.
  • Cordyceps improves blood circulation in the organs and helps relieve "tired legs" syndrome.
  • Research suggests that Cordyceps reduces inflammatory markers in animals. However, its effects on inflammation in humans remain unknown.

Dosage

The dosage commonly used in human research is 1-3 grams per day. This range is not associated with side effects and has been found to have some health benefits.
Dissolve a teaspoon of Cordyceps powder in water or juice and drink it 1-2 times a day.

Special precautions

No studies have yet examined the safety of Cordyceps in humans. However, a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine suggests that it is non-toxic. In fact, the Chinese government has approved Cordyceps CS-4 for use in hospitals and recognizes it as a safe, natural medicine.
