Damiana, also known as Turnera diffusa, is a low-growing plant with yellow flowers and aromatic leaves. It is native to the subtropical climates of southern Texas, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. The use of damiana as an herbal medicine predates written history. By the time the Spanish crossed the Atlantic, indigenous cultures had been using it for centuries as an aphrodisiac and bladder tonic.

Basic Properties: Neurotonic, antidepressant, urinary antiseptic, laxative, its alkaloids have an effect similar to testosterone

Uses: to strengthen the nervous system, traditionally in Mexico it has been used as an aphrodisiac, for erectile dysfunction, depression (especially if a sexual factor coexists)

How is it used?
the leaves as an infusion: half to a teaspoon in a cup of boiled water for 10-15 minutes. Drink 3 times a day.
