Paprika is the ground red pepper of the genus Capsicum annuum, which also includes hot peppers.
It originates from South and Central America and is currently also cultivated mainly in the USA, Spain, Hungary and Turkey.
It was first brought to Europe by pirates. The quality of Paprika is graded (ASTA grading). The paprika with the brightest color belongs to the highest ASTA grade and is the most expensive

It enhances roasts, poultry, fish and vegetables. It is very tasty with fried potatoes or in the oven and in egg dishes. There is sweet, hot and smoky paprika.
Smoked Paprika from "Balsamo-Iperikon" comes from Greek peppers of excellent quality, which have gone through a smoking process before becoming powder. Use it in soups, sauces, dips, salads, potatoes, sausages, salamis, in meat, poultry, fish and ketchup preparations.
