Viburnum contains a bitter substance (viburin), valeric acid, triterpenoids, tannins, saponins, salicosides and scopoletin (coumarin).

Basic properties:
It has antispasmodic , sedative , hypotensive and astringent properties. The chemical substance scopoletin, which constitutes it, exhibits a strong spasmolytic effect on the uterus and salicin has an analgesic effect.

Uses:
It is used to treat dysmenorrhea , to relieve uterine cramps and labor pains .

How is it used:
the root as a decoction: simmer 1 teaspoon in 1 cup of water for about 10 minutes. It should be drunk very hot 2-3 times a day
