EDIBLE ACTIVATED CHARCOAL Nature's Way Activated Charcoal 560mg -100caps
Nature's Way activated charcoal helps detoxify the body and relieves you from the unpleasant feeling of gas buildup.
Made from coconut husks that are slowly burned to create cavernous chambers that aid in absorption. Activated charcoal works by trapping toxins and chemicals in the gut. The porous texture of charcoal has a negative electrical charge, which causes it to attract positively charged molecules, such as toxins and gases.
This helps it trap toxins and chemicals in the gut, preventing them from being absorbed. Because activated charcoal is not absorbed by your body, it can carry the toxins that bind to its surface out of your body through bowel movements.

Basic uses
Thanks to its toxin-binding properties, activated charcoal has a variety of medical and many household uses:
- Poisoning: Activated charcoal can bind a variety of drugs and toxins, preventing them from being absorbed into the body. It is often used as a poison control treatment or to treat drug overdoses.
- Kidney function: It may help improve kidney function by promoting the elimination of toxic waste. This may be especially helpful in cases of kidney disease, but more studies are needed.
- Bad breath: Activated charcoal appears to bind small odor compounds like TMA (trimethylamine). This may reduce bad breath symptoms for those suffering from fish odor syndrome.
- Cholesterol: Activated charcoal appears to help lower cholesterol levels. However, more recent studies may help strengthen this conclusion.
- Reduces gas: Some studies report that activated charcoal may help reduce gas production after a gas-producing meal. It may also help improve the smell of gas. However, not all studies have observed this benefit.
- Water purification: Activated carbon is a popular way to reduce heavy metal and fluoride content in water.
- Hangover prevention: Activated charcoal is sometimes used as a hangover treatment. While consuming it with alcohol may reduce blood alcohol levels, its effects on hangovers have not been studied.
- Skin care: Applying this charcoal to the skin is touted as an effective treatment for acne and insect or snake bites.
Special precautions
Activated charcoal is considered safe in most cases, and side effects are said to be rare and rarely serious.
It can cause some unpleasant side effects, the most common of which are nausea and vomiting. Additionally, constipation and black stools are two other commonly reported side effects .
