Guarana is a Brazilian plant native to the Amazon basin. Also known as Paullinia cupana, it is a climbing plant admired for its fruit. A ripe guarana fruit is about the size of a coffee bean. It resembles the human eye . Guarana extract is made by processing the seeds into a powder. Amazonian tribes have used guarana for centuries for its medicinal properties . It contains an impressive array of stimulants , including caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine. Guarana also has antioxidants, including tannins, saponins, and catechins .
Guarana can offer you excellent support for both its tonic/energizing and antioxidant properties. Regular consumption, without exceeding, of these plants can be considered a successful strategy for better dealing with problems such as mental fatigue caused by stress.

How is it used:
as an infusion or decoction: add half a teaspoon (1-2 g) of crushed dried fruit and simmer in a cup of boiling water for 5-10 minutes.

Although guarana does not have a recommended dosage, most human-based research has found that doses as low as 50-75 mg can provide the health benefits associated with guarana.
Special precautions:
Avoid (or minimize the dose) by people with heart problems, peptic ulcer, anxiety disorders and kidney damage, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It contains guaranine, a type of caffeine that has a comparatively milder effect and is absorbed more slowly by the body.
