Whole Grain Tahini With Black Cumin BIO 250g

Tahini with black sesame or black cumin is nothing more than tahini but is simply made from black sesame seeds.

It is a completely natural product, produced from highly selected sesame seeds. These seeds are peeled, dried and then mashed, creating this fatty cream. Tahini is a food known all over the world, but particularly loved in the countries of the Middle East, North Africa and Asian countries. In Greece it is consumed all year round, but its consumption increases significantly during fasting periods.

Tahini contains proteins of good biological value , as it is rich in amino acids (basic building blocks of proteins). To make tahini proteins of high biological value, they must be combined with a food rich in the amino acid lysine, as its lysine content is low. Simply put, when tahini is consumed with foods that contain lysine, such as nuts and legumes, the resulting protein is like animal protein, which is particularly useful during periods of fasting, when we abstain from meat.

Due to its valuable nutrients, it has also been described as a superfood. It is rich in vitamins ( E, B1, B2, niacin, etc. ), amino acids and carbohydrates. In addition, it includes a unique combination of proteins, rich in sulfur amino acids, lignans, sesamin, sesamolin, tocopherol and natural minerals. All of this makes it a creamy oil that helps the human body. Finally, we should point out that due to tahini's low content of simple sugars as well as its relatively low glycemic index , it is a food suitable for consumption by people with diabetes.

On the other hand, due to its high caloric content (approximately 90 calories per tablespoon), we should be careful about the amount we consume, especially if we are on a weight loss program.

It can be included in our daily diet in various and varied ways, such as in soups, salads, sauces, garnishes and very easily, as it is, in our breakfast.
