Key Properties: neurostimulant, aphrodisiac

Uses: Yohimbine dilates the blood vessels of the genitals, increasing blood flow and stimulating the nerves. It appears to enhance male sexual drive and also act as a tonic.

How is it used:
We use an extract from the bark of the plant.

Dosage:
The correct dosage of this herb is generally a complex matter, due to the potential toxicity of the plant. Therefore, one should start with lower doses and gradually increase until the desired result is achieved and in collaboration with a specialist. In scientific research, the dosage is expressed in mg of Yohimbine (active substance). In a study (2015) in which commercially available Yohimbe bark preparations were evaluated and the yohimbine content was determined , the results varied from 10mg of yohimbine in each gram of Yohimbe bark to 40mg/g (1g of Yohimbe bark corresponds to a third of a teaspoon)

The following doses have been studied in studies:

For sexual performance problems : 15-30 mg daily of yohimbine divided into 2-3 doses.
Doses of up to 100 mg of yohimbine daily have been used but with the risk of serious side effects.

When it comes to tea, usually 5 teaspoons of yohimbe bark tea are simmered in 1 liter of water for 10 minutes and consumed up to 2 cups per day. You can add vitamin C since it enhances absorption. You can add honey and cinnamon for flavor.

Special precautions:

Overdosing on this herb can cause serious eye complications and other serious health problems. It is avoided by people with kidney failure, hypertension.

Do not use it in conjunction with stimulating drinks (e.g. coffee)
