Ashwagandha - also known as Indian winter cherry, has the botanical name Withania Somnifera . It is cultivated in western India and the Himalayas, mainly in the drier regions.
Ashwagandha has a bittersweet taste while the sweet taste prevails in digestion. The benefits of Ashwagandha in the body are miraculous. Many call it the Ayurvedic ginseng due to its action in enhancing strength and endurance in the body.
