Horsetail (Equisetum arvence), Horsetail

Names: Polycombi, Kontylohorto, Ippourea (horsetail)

Key Properties: urinary astringent, blood coagulant, accelerates the repair of damaged connective tissue, anti-inflammatory.
Uses: in cystitis , urethritis, prostate diseases such as inflammation and benign hyperplasia, for the treatment of incontinence and nocturnal enuresis in children.
Contains silicon dioxide - helps in the absorption of calcium and prevents the deposition of lipids in the arteries. It is useful in the healing of wounds & fractures, for bone diseases, such as osteoporosis.
How is it used:
as an infusion: one teaspoon of dried herb in a cup of boiling water for 10-15 minutes. Drink 3 times a day
Special precautions:
Do not use for more than 6 weeks without specialist supervision.
