It originates from South and Central America and is currently also cultivated mainly in the USA, Spain, Hungary and Turkey.
It was first brought to Europe by pirates.
Paprika quality is graded (ASTA grading). The brightest colored paprika is the highest ASTA grade and is the most expensive.
Key Properties : contains carotenoids, Vitamin C, increases metabolism and blood circulation
Culinary use: Enhances roasts, poultry, fish and vegetables. It is very tasty with French fries or in the oven and in egg dishes. Use it in soups, sauces, dips, salads, potatoes, sausages, salami, in meat, poultry, fish and ketchup preparations.
