Other Names: Chinese pepper, Sichuan pepper
It takes its name from a region in southeastern China. Despite its name, it does not belong to the pepper family.

Properties : Affects the spleen and stomach, hypotensive, diuretic, bactericidal

Therapeutic use: Used in Chinese medicine and Ayurveda mainly for digestive problems

Culinary use : It has a very complex aroma and flavor reminiscent of lemon, mint, anise and resin. A staple of Chinese cuisine and the "5 spice" mixture. It is suitable for seafood sauces and is used in sweets and chocolates.

How is it used:
Use it whole or grated.
