Therapeutic use: Used to treat Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma, Chronic Runny Nose, Common Cold, Sore Throat, relieves Flatulence or Intestinal Cramps.
How is it used:
Dried Hyssop as an infusion: 1 teaspoon of dried Hyssop plant in 1 cup of boiled water for about 10-15 minutes. Drink 3 times a day.
For a sore throat, gargle with Hyssop tea before drinking it.
Special precautions:
Hyssop in the above dosages as a tea or tincture is considered safe and without side effects.
The use of its essential oil has been reported to cause seizures and is therefore not recommended for people with epilepsy or other seizure disorders.
Hyssop should be avoided during pregnancy.
