MAITAKE MUSHROOM POWDER 50g BIO

Botanical name: Grifola frondosa.

Years ago in Japan, Maitake was worth its weight in silver. Historically, Maitake has been used as a tonic and adaptogen. It has been used as a food to promote well-being and vitality. The medicinal properties of Maitake mushroom have been studied since the mid-1980s. Clinical research on Maitake has increased dramatically in recent years. Studies have highlighted Maitake’s properties to support a healthy immune system response.

In 1992, the antiviral activity of Maitake was confirmed by both the National Cancer Institute and the Japanese Institute of Health. In addition, Maitake mushroom has been the subject of research against the HIV virus. This mushroom contains polysaccharides that are among the most studied to date.

When taken orally, it is easily absorbed. Maitake mushroom is a delicious mushroom with excellent nutritional properties. It may support healthy insulin and plasma lipid levels. Many studies are ongoing on Maitake mushrooms.

Most of maitake's health benefits appear to come from one main source. They contain beta-glucan, a polysaccharide compound that is thought to nourish the immune system by activating effector cells such as macrophages, natural killer cells, and T cells. In addition to their role in general immunity, these types of antibodies also work against cancer cells. The polysaccharide is also thought to be the source of the mushroom's ability to potentially support healthy blood sugar levels.

On top of all this, maitakes are also a natural source of minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium, B vitamins and amino acids. With all this and the fact that they taste great, Maitake mushrooms show us that they are more than worthy of our attention.
