The dried and fresh leaves and flowers are used as food and medicine. (Even today in some villages in Greece they make soup from mallow).

Basic Properties:
Emollient, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, astringent

Use:
for bronchitis, runny nose, pharyngitis, laryngitis, cough, sore throat, gastritis, stomach ulcers, topically for eczema


How is it used:
-flowers and leaves as an infusion: 1 teaspoon in a cup of boiled water for 10-15 minutes. Drink 3-4 times a day between meals.
-externally as a compress : soak a clean cloth in mallow tea and apply to irritated skin.
