How is it used:
Internally* the root as a decoction: simmer 1 teaspoon in 1 cup of water for about 10 minutes. Drink 2-3 times a day for digestive problems and ulcerative colitis.
Symphytum leaves as an infusion: 1 teaspoon of leaves in a cup of boiled water for 10 minutes.
Externally we use it as a poultice for healing wounds, pains and injuries. We mix powdered root with a little water, creating a paste. We apply it locally using
a clean gauze.
Special precautions:
*Avoid excessive internal consumption because comfrey contains dangerous alkaloids (pyrrolizidine). Before using comfrey internally, consult a specialist.
Topical use should be done on cleaned wounds because rapid healing can trap dirt or pus.
