Brown Rice BIO 500g Greek (BIOVLASTOS)
Brown rice is the "uncooked" version of the classic white rice we are all familiar with. However, brown rice is superior in nutritional value, as it retains its hull and is more easily digestible and lighter on the stomach.
It is an excellent source of carbohydrates (amylose and amylopectin) and fiber, which facilitate intestinal function. It is rich in vitamins, such as vitamin B1, B3, B6, E and folic acid. It also contains iron, selenium, potassium, magnesium and phosphorus. Although it provides proteins of low biological value, the amino acids it provides are more complete than the amino acids of other cereals. Finally, like all unprocessed cereals, it does not have cholesterol, fat and sodium.
Brown rice is considered a whole grain because it has not lost its "integrity" from processing. Whole grains have been shown to significantly reduce the formation of arterial plaque, the risk of heart disease, and high cholesterol levels.
