Basic Properties: Expectorant, tonic, emollient, lactating, aromatic, antidiabetic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, reduces cholesterol

Therapeutic use: to improve blood sugar control (diabetes), to prevent and treat high blood cholesterol,
for Atherosclerosis, high Triglycerides, to stimulate milk production in nursing mothers, with gargles to relieve irritated throats, for digestive disorders.
Externally for the treatment of wounds, abscesses, fistulas and tumors.

Culinary use: Turmeric plays an important role in Indian cuisine, being used in curries and spice blends.
It goes well with lemonade, meat and minced meat (it gives a wonderful flavor to meatballs), potatoes, vegetables. It is used in recipes for pastourma.

How is it used:
Whole Fenugreek seeds as a decoction: Simmer half to 1 teaspoon in 1 cup of water for about 10 minutes. Drink 3 times a day.
To improve its flavor, add anise.
The ground seeds (powder) are added to our food. It is recommended as a therapeutic treatment to take at least 6 g. daily.
For external use, we make a poultice of powdered fenugreek seeds.

Special precautions:
The use of more than 100 g of fenugreek seeds can cause intestinal disorders and nausea. In any other case, fenugreek is considered extremely safe.
Due to its potential action as a uterine stimulant, fenugreek should not be used during pregnancy.
