Zedoary root

Zedoary, (Curcuma zedoaria), Zedoary

It is a perennial plant of the Zingiberaceae family. It belongs to the same family as turmeric and is known as 'white turmeric'. The grated root of the plant is added to curry mixtures. The inside of the root is white and its taste is similar to ginger, a little more bitter.
