Atropa belladonna
Other Names: Deadly nightshade, Deadly nightshade

Both the fruits, roots, or flowers of Belladonna contain toxic substances, capable of causing hallucinations and delirium, even death, in the appropriate dose.
The name Belladonna, meaning beautiful woman , was given because women of the Italian and Spanish aristocracy used small doses of its toxic juice to dilate the pupils of their eyes and thus appear more attractive, with a more intense gaze.

Basic Properties: Analgesic, antispasmodic, anesthetic

Use: All parts of Belladonna are used in homeopathic treatment. It has been used to treat stomachaches, ulcers, bronchial asthma, nausea and as a local anesthetic. However, its use must be done with great caution due to the toxic side effects it can cause. In strong doses it causes hallucinations, delirium, disorientation and in large doses even death.
It has been known for centuries as a poison, and was also used as a source for the production of some medicines such as Hyoscyamine, but it is very dangerous to use unless used by qualified herbalists.

How is it used:
Consult a specialist before use.
